After installing the latest update on my Pixel 4 XL, I've been having a weird battery issue.
The phone will just spontaneously shut down and when I turn it back on, it says the battery is at 50% and it won't charge. When I look at the "Battery usage" page, the graph shows the battery level spiking well above 100% at the time it shuts down. In this state it won't charge. If I plug it in, the icon in the status bar will change but the Battery screen won't even acknowledge that it's plugged in.
If I reboot it at this point, the battery level will then show the correct level and it will charge.
The first time it happened, it was at the end of the day and my battery was around 30%. I had just happened to pull down the notification shade and saw a notification saying my battery was at -1% (yes negative 1%) and that it was about to shut down. It shut down before I could plug in a charger. But, on the battery graph after I turned it back on, I saw the spike above 100%.
The other two times it's happened, it was about a half hour after taking it off the charger and the battery level was in the high 90's.
This is a screenshot of the battery graph after turning it back on today after it shut down, but before I rebooted it again. After rebooting the second time, the battery level appeared at the proper value of 96%.
