Are you kidding me ? I have an extended battery on my phone and I am looking at it right now and it's at 70% after an hour and 45 minutes on battery. This is absolutely rediculous. I have my phone settings to CDMA only, no 4G, I have my screen super dim, sync is off, GPS is off, I don't know what else it could be and it is driving me nuts. I have barely used the phone, only for texting a few times, nothing else. I have swyped away recent apps, I don't have a task killer, google location services are on, and when I go to battery it says screen 36%, Android OS 25% sdcard 13%, Android system 5%, Cell stand-by 5% and some others with lower %. I do have music paradise and tune-in radio, not sure if any of those ciould be it. I don't know if any of that looks suspicious to anyone, please let me know. I can provide a list of a few other apps that I have if need-be in case it might be one of the apps. I need some help, I love my phone but I feel like I can't use it throught the day feeling like it is going to die. Thanks.

There is an android OS bug that is causing the battery life to be less than stellar. There is an unofficial update 4.0.4 that fixes that issue as well other issues. Just waiting for it to be pushed out.

Here is another person with the extended battery like you with 4.0.4: xda-developers - View Single Post - 4.0.4 Unofficial Changelog *Update2 02/05* he is at 13th hour with 40% remaining. I also read others with similar stories as well with 4.0.4

Here is the unofficial change log: 4.0.4 Unofficial Changelog *Update2 02/05* - xda-developers

True, I a looking forward to 4.0.4 however, I have seen people at over 35 hours on battery at 75% and I am at 70% after less than 2 ? And I am concious of my battery life and doing everything I can to save battery including not using my phone. There's something wrong for sure. I just want to be hoping for my 4.0.4 update to come then once I get it, nothing changes.

I know we can apply the update now, but first you have to unlock the boot loader which will wipe your phone including the sd card directory.

I am running 4.0.2 right now. Do I have a bad phone? Is my area so bad that my phone is trying too hard to get a signal? I have no idea.

35 hours = no actual phone usage, and unless they show screen captures with screen on time to prove otherwise, I won't believe any claim like that.

Firstly your extended battery gives you a whopping measly 14.3% extra ((2000-1750) / 1750 * 100)

A very likely reason is one or more apps that stop the phone from sleeping (look at awake time in battery stats, if way bigger than screen on then you have that issue) to diagnose those try: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.asksven.betterbatterystats&hl=en

GetJar is (unfortunately) an example of an app that will drain your battery.

Anything that uses internet will couse battery drainage, Google Location in my experience uses alot of power.
Besides, just becouse a battery says so and so many mAh that is not nececarly so.

In the above example data was turned of, and the phone unused most of the time, but I did some streaming and image viewing.g

My suggestion is that you turn data of over night and check you battery in the morning, if you didn't get much drain then you just have to figure out what app/service used the data.

You should take your phone in. Batteries are not stellar on phones like this but if you weren't jamming on a 4G signal and doing heavy work then that is just not normal. I've got the extended battery also and just 2 nights ago forgot to plug it in before bed and got to over 34 hours before I needed to charge.

Open the camera app and then back out to the home screen. Occasionally the sensor will stay on after a boot up. Also instead of hitting the power button to turn the screen off, let it go out on its own. These two things helped my battery life a lot.
Edit. Also disable maps if you dont use it that often.
