Ok I've had this phone for about 36 hours now and the battery life on this thing is simply amazing!!!! Pulled it off the charger at 7 this morning and as of right now I still have 35% battery remaining. This is with a lot of hspa+ browsing, you tube, numerous phone calls, constant tinkering and forum posting. Anyone else experiencing great battery life on this phone?

It's only like... day 2 of using it, but so far my battery life has been fantastic. Still a bit early to tell.

Mine wasn't that great. Granted I absolutely hammered it yesterday, but I took it off the charger at 6am and was out of juice by 500. Hoping it improves after a few days and I'm not using it all day like I did yesterday

Are you using any live wallpapers? I was using them on my Vivid and it seemed like it was draining the battery like crazy (could have been the wallpapers I picked or something else) but when I turned them off, the battery improved.

For what this phone does.. the battery is amazing..

Live wallpapers drain the battery of every phone. They aren't worth it. I don't use them.

On my homescreens, I have a weather\clock widget, a facebook (friend stream) widget, and a twitter widget. They update occasionally. I've mostly just been getting used to the phone. Playing around and testing things out. Not exactly heavy use.

Still though.... this seems mighty impressive to me.

I know, I know. But I like 'em!

I did notice that maps was using quite a bit of power and sucking the battery dry when I didn't have anything running and no widgets that should have been using location other than weather.

Since not using the live wallpapers though, I haven't seen that issue at all. So, I guess I'm gonna go with not using them. I'd rather have the good battery life.

Maps, check your location services or Latitude settings.

HSPA+ use is one thing, LTE will be another. That will be the true test of the viability of non-removable batteries for 4G phones.

I
Do you guys have lots of widgets updating info constantly?

I do not. I am using the phone the same way that I used my Vivid and battery life seems like it has almost doubled for me.

On another note, even using the phone in direct sunlight is no longer a problem. Even without brightness set to maximum it is still looks bright and clear. The screen on this thing is the most impressive screen I have ever seen on anything. I don't know what the SIII screen will look like but I did see the Nexus display and this thing absolutely destroys it.

I have been using my phone since this morning at 8:30 and still have a ton of battery left other Android phones and even my iPhone 4S would have needed a charge by now :-(

Ive had mine since Friday and im doing well with battery. Every smartphone i have i always turn off the auto sync options. The new built in multi tasker is amazing because you dont have to deal with the thrid party task killers. Use that as much as possible and your battery will be fine. Dont forget to turn down the screen brightness as well! I have my brightness at about 30%.

Well used mine for the first day at work....gotta say its awesome! My gnex at work would last maybe 5 hours and be dead even with LTE turned off. Reception isn't that great at work and we don't have wifi. On my blackberry a typical day I would be down to about 40 percent at 8 hours....at 7hrs48mins today when I left...45 percent remaining...that's as good or better than my blackberry which is very awesome and it should ony get better as the battery gets cycled in.;)

i agree.
phone lasted me all day with constant use... and only took about an hr and half to bring back up to full charge again... which shocked me..

i had the nokia lumia 900 and it lasted almost all day and took 5-6 hours to freaking charge.... drove me crazy.

I'm in a LTE market and my battery life if fine, actually better then fine. I couldn't be more happy with the battery eben compared to my IPhone 4S.

Im at 1 day, 7 hours, 24 minutes and 33 seconds on my battery and im at 50%. Mind you i have LTE turned off considering im not in an LTE market and i use WiFi constantly. I have everything turned off of auto sync and so on.

I wouldn't call the battery life fantastic. I have no widgets other than the HTC clock & weather, so not much updating. I do have a live wallpaper background (bubbles). My screen only lasts about 4 hours, I'd say. I played with the phone on the train for half an hour this morning, downloaded a few apps, wrote an e-mail or two, and I am already at 68% (I woke up at 7am, it's 11am now).

Could the live wallpaper be draining it that much? I also have the weather lock screen - I wonder if that affects it much.

Live wallpapers definitely drain battery. How often is the weather syncing? How often are your emails syncing? Smartphones are great with those features but you'll pay for it with battery.
