I'm very impressed with the battery life on the Note 3 so far.

I had been using the S4 since it came out. I have to be frank, that battery flat out stinks. At least for me it was HTC Thunderbolt, Motorola Droid Bionic bad.

I am not using any of those so called battery saving apps. I have nothing switched off and have been using the phone the way I usually do. Even on the S4 I was switching off the wifi and bluetooth when I wasn't using them.

I have a full day of battery use without recharging. Even my friends with their iPhone 5s's aren't getting that type of battery performance.

It is amazing. However, batteries do tend to perform really well when new. If you're still getting that same performance after, say, 2-3 months that'll be really impressive.

... And when it starts to act up get a new battery. They're like 10 bucks. Not even a dent in the most modest of spenders.

I have found my note batteries start declining after about a 100 cycles, and even then it is only my a mild amount. Note 2 battery is original and works well. This is the deciding factor for me. A phone with power *and* juice to make it through a along day.

That is the beauty of the Samsung devices. However, my post was indicating that the battery would "act up" just that you may not get that marathon performance experienced when the battery was brand new. Some might see it as a hassle to replace the battery every 2-3 months solely because it's not performing the same way as it was when it was new.
