I just installed the application overclockwidget and it has boosted standby time by a lot

All you have to do is

1. Root
2. Install the overclockwidget
3. Settings for widget enable differ freq screen off
4. Set freq to 245000 min and max for screen off freq

That's it

This was posted somewhere so it's not my idea but works great

So sounds like the OP is underclocking the CPU for when the screen goes off

This works with unREVoked, no need to fully root. Install unREVoked first, then the widget.

yeah basically it underclocks it while screen is off so it saves battery when you dont need it

when you turn it on, your evo is fully clocked to spec.

has worked great for me with unrevoked yes

It most certainly helps when screen is off almost none of my battery life goes away. Love it!

now I can waste battery only when im actually using it!

Is it responsive with the underclocking? What I mean is, when you turn the screen on does it immediately put the CPU back to stock speed? On te Pre, the underclocking would take a second to restore the stock speed, and the experience wasn't so great.

It has been near instant and I have experienced no lag while using it when I turn it on.

I think you wont notice since it does it immediately.

I'm gonna give this a whirl!

I need something to help me balance having Google talk on aka the biggest battery burner ever! At least when the screen is down now, I should be saving juice!

Can you provide more concrete information? How much battery life are you getting? What are you running? For how long?

Does anyone mind posting the "Screen on Freq Setting" for the Min and Max fields. I want to make sure I've got it fully cooking when the phone comes back on.

I cant find unrevoked in the market, little help please?

edit: Sorry, stupid question. New to to the forum.

Wouldnt it make mores sense to set it to 245000 min and 245000 max for when the screen is off?
