Battery Life is different Between replacement phone

On my old droid X my battery says there is 15 % battery life left. I recieved my replacement Droid X and the battery says 40%. What could possibly cause this discrepency and what one is actually right?

battery life is pretty much an estimation based on past usage. it takes a new phone time to calibrate it's battery indicator.

I have had 30%, rebooted and had 60%.

regrading which one is right? who knows...if my phone ever says 15% i'm looking for a charger...
