Greetings,

I recently update my T-Mobile S7E to Nougat & rooted The phone is really running very nice but my battery life is definitely not what it was on MM. I am attaching some screenshots to hopefully explain. It seems the biggest offender imsservice. If I freeze this I get constant "ismservice has stopped" errors. Phone is unusable until I unfreeze. I like Nougat so far but am considering going back to my old trusty "U" marshmallow firmware. Any thoughts? How is this compared to others?

Pat

Was your phone rooted and having the same apps disabled before Nougat? If not, you can't really compare both. In my particular case, no root, battery life was better after the Nougat update. I did have to clear the cache from Recovery because it was a bit laggy right after the update, but after I did that, it was smooth and the phone lasted longer between charges.

Not sure what the ismsservice is, but if maybe if you're rooted, you disabled something you shouldn't have and it's malfunctioning? It does sound like it could be the Advanced Texting option (read receipts, etc.)

Phone was rooted. Pretty much identical Nougat settings compared to MM.
