This is ridiculous. I never had a phone with this much battery life since my Nokia 3310.

Is that on the XL? I have the regular pixel and still get awesome battery life. Just shows you that all these other Android devices, samsung, LG, etc can put 3500mah batteries in their phones and they still can't outlast my 2770 mAh pixel battery.

Yes, Pixel XL bought in November.

I was nervous coming from an HTC10 which had good battery life for me. At the end of the day I still have well over 50% left.
Yes, a terrible problem :)

I'm on 7.1.2 the second update an battery life has improved a lot

Imagine an iPhone if Apple decided to match 3500mAh battery. Or say, if Google slapped the Pixel with 3500 mAh.

iPhone 7 runs short of 2000 mAh, and the Pixel on 2700mAh.

My friend owns an iPhone 6S Plus and according to her if she only texts and calls(no internet activity), her phone lasts 3-4 days.

If Apple stepped up their game and take the competition more seriously, they might get a bigger share in NA, Japan, and Europe.

Problem with Android OEMs is that they're too flashy about their hardware and ignoring user interface and experience and software-hardware optimization.

That said, on a light day use I was able to stretch my Pixel to close to 72 hours. When I get more active using my phone, it still lasts me between 1-1.6 days. But I do not do a lot of media in my phone. That's what I do in my Kindle Fire

I definitely think that iOS manages their battery optimization much better than Android does and I don't think that will ever change as a whole. But what I can say is this is the best optimized Android device I have ever used.

Coming from a Samsung GS4, I agree. I had to charge my S4 a few times a day...which was made even more painful when the charging port got busted and I was still under contract so I had to bear with external chargers. By the end of 2016, I opted for a Pixel. I did consider the Note 7 because it seemed like an awesome phablet, but when they were exploding, I considered iPhone 7, but then I did not like the lack of headphone jacks. So I bit the Pixel. I feel that it should be priced lower given the hardware (lol), but I can't see myself going back to non-stock Android.

I think more OEMs should have stock Android. I think Nokia will use stock Android. So that is good for the competition and for consumers who do not like OEM and carrier bloats.

Supposedly Android Or is going to take a step closer to iOS in terms.s of how it manages background apps. Hopefully this will get developers to update and release apps that don't run in the background and once killed, stay killed.

Have you done anything to optimize battery? What are your primary uses for your phone?

I have noticed even better results with data saver on.

Yes I agree I have not had this big of an issue ever!

Coming from iPhone 7 its a major problem that the Pixel dies though the day. There is no way I can make it though a day on a charge.

Have had to cut back just to make it last. iPhone 7 not an issue. I am by no means a Apple fan boy just fact.

Google is sending my another phone on Monday hope it solves the issue!

My battery is draining overnight while sitting at my bedside. Has been going on for about a month, or two. Used to never happen. What's up with that???
