I am just wondering how long your Galaxy Nexus' battery is lasting. For me, I took it off the charger at 8:00 this morning, and it is currently at 14% (3:55 P.M.). What kind of things is everyone doing to help battery life? Would a task killer work? How good are the so called "battery boosters?" I DID turn off my 4G when I was at home (not a 4G area).

I use my phone heavy when its off the charge so 3 hours or so its done i want a extended battery!!! Anyone have suggestions where i wouldnt have to replace the case or anything.

On typical days, I used to have 6-8 hours before needing to charge it up. This is with normal usage, facebook, texting, phone calls, etc. It averages around there. This includes around 1 hour of talk time at the very least. This is on Stock 4.0.4.

However, that has completely changed with AOKP Rom running 4.0.4 android. I can get around 12-14 hours with the same usage. Sometimes longer.

That's not too bad at all. How hard was it to root and load the rom?

Compared to most devices, the Nexus was by far the easiest to unlock, root, install CWM, and install Custom ROM.

There are several sticky's on these forums that can help you and XDA is also a great source. I use the Galaxy Nexus Toolkit (it's on version 7.0 right now) command prompt base application. They have an option for 1-CLICK FOR ALL that will unlock the bootloader, root the phone, rename revovery restore files, and flash CWM Touch.

Just keep in mind that all the data you have stored on your phone right now will be erased. So be sure to backup all your data before unlocking your bootloader.

Hope that helps.

Since i decided to Root and install the update myself I've gotten really good battery life. Before i used to get about 8-9 hours. Now a whole day. I don't use 4G at all , although i live in NYC. My screen time is usually a little more than an hour.

Has the 4.0.4 update helped with battery life? I ask because i haven't gotten the update yet.

My battery completely drained over night after the 4.0.4 update, maybe the battery needs to calibrate to the OS update? If not Verizon is going to hate dealing with me. Before the update I never had this problem. Any thoughts?

What radio's do you have running? If 4g do you have something like skype running in the background that could keep it powered on?

Overnight I'm connected to wifi and it stays connected while it sleeps. I don't have skype but haven't ruled out an app could be doing it. My phone connection has been worse since the update, I actually drop some calls now which didn't happen before. Maybe a weaker phone connection can make the battery drain? Really reaching here.
