I really love my sensation but my Only complaint is the battery life, I have never gone a whole day without it dying on me the longest it's lasted is 12 hours witch isn't that long and thats wit little to no use at all. I have changed the settings so that all the animations are off and the brightness is all the way down and all the auto syncs are off also but it still dies super fast. Is there anything I can do to improve the life of the battery? And anyone else that has this phone have this problem n how longs your phone last??

I took my phone off the charger 2 hours ago and used the web for 20 mins and that's all I've done in hours and it's already below 50 percent it's really annoying

There is a lot of info on this issue around all the Android forums, specifically this forum and also XDA.

The long and short of it is like this: Sense 3.0 is a resource hog. Passed that, the battery that HTC provided for the Sensation is beyond inadequate. I recommend purchasing the CHICHITECH HTC Evo 3D (yes you read that correctly) extended battery. It fits perfectly with the standard battery cover that comes with our phone. Search - HTCEXPRESS.

After you buy that battery you should see a slight improvement. However, how comes the real question. Are you rooted and do you plan to root. Once you answer that, I will give you more info.

Good luck!

rick, i have the same problem as this guy here.... i dont plan to root. what;s the difference?
and yes, looks like im gonn have to buy it

Hi sorry I didn't answer sooner!

Basically the battery is just too small for the dual core and the resource hog that is Sense 3.0. The CHICHITECH is an extended battery that holds more of a charge and therefore lasts longer. If you don't plan to root and install custom roms then this is the only option for you. But if you are interested at all in rooting, let me know and I will try to be of help. At least until I buy my GSII and then my sensation will get retired (Read: SOLD).

Rooting allows you to install modified versions of the Sense OS. There a lot of VERY talented people working (for free!) over at XDA Developers Forums. They have tinkered with the sense OS to make it a lot less of a resource hog there by making the battery last longer. I have had a lot of luck with some of these roms. Let me know if you want to root. I will direct you to a video giving step by step instructions.

Please send it to me. I can't seem to even get through 12 hours even on 2G. I really bought it for screen size (to read kindle books) and have yet to install a game or other processor intense app. To get 24 or more hours would rock!

There are few other ways also to keep battery more time witout daying.

Disable Mobile network (3g or GPRS), GPS,WIFI

and use a extended batery, many those available in ebay.
