battery life

I recently upgraded to the HTC Vivid after having a Blackberry for many years. The first thing I took notice is the battery life for the Vivid does not last long. Can someone recommend any tips / tricks/ or an app that will prolong the battery life / power. Thanks

What kind of battery life are you getting? How many hours?

I find the Vivid to get great battery life for a modern smartphone. Please note that a Blackberry is NOT a modern smartphone.

i got the cheap 13 buck 3600mah batt from e-bay yesterday. it was about 75% but according to battery dr. it looks like it holds the same amount of charge. I will have to do more testing..

The Blackberry may not be as sophisticated as the Androids but I'll tell you from a corporate perspective, Battery life is at least 2 if not 3 times my Vivid. You can set different rings and vibe sequences for EACH email address configured. It does Exchange mail very well. It has most useful apps in the app market that the majority of us use and Admittedly it isn't as powerful but what can ya do. No device does everything really good in my opinion. My 0.02.

I've had good luck with Juice Defender (there are free and paid versions). However, you will never get Blackberry-like battery life from a Vivid.

Well stange update.. I fully charged the 3600 battery last night and in the morning the wife used it. A few hours later I looked at the phone and it was still showing at 100%? so I re-charged it just in case and ran it through a test.

Turned wifi on
Bluetooh on
sound at max
ran a long netflix move 2H:30min
then did it again
and again.. haha

Anyway I didnt finish the 3rd time around, but it looks like I can get with all that on about 7 1/2 hours of netflex. Hell without wifi and bluetooth that might be over 8-9 hours..

I have not tested the stock one, but I dont think it will last that long. Which leaves me to think for some reason the Battery dr. app or something is not really forecasting the right amount of talk/video time. It all stays the same... maybe there is another app to try..

Has anyone just ran video from their reg batt?

I get about 7 hours with moderate use, and all the sync turned off. Nowhere near my iphone battery life. about 10 hours with heavy use, but that's fine. I'm trying something new

I wonder if moving the apps that come with the phone would help? Putting them on the SD card should increase battery life, while decreasing "bloat". What do you think?
