Early adopters, we need more info on one of the most important specs, battery life.

im sure those of us who arent lucky enough to have gotten our hands on one yet would greatly appreciate battery stats, please state weather you use your device heavily or not, and of course screen shots are always appreciated!

I've read concerns about the battery life. But some have said it all depends on usage. I had a full charge last night, and will be doing a full test run on how long my battery lasts today. I'll keep you posted on my findings.

6.5 hours in and I'm at 65%.

Been browsing the web, played a couple games, accessed my pc remotely, downloaded a few apps. Nothing to draining like watching a movie, but been putting it to good use.

some of the reviews i read actually said that watching a movie would use less power, im hoping to get 10-12 hours of regular use from the tablet itself before having to dock it, though i will most likely use it for surfing the web and playing games (which i hear is actually worse for battery life =/) still with great power comes great loss of battery lol

Hey, are u sure? Only 35% of the tablet battery capacity for 6.5 hours usage as described: 35% / 6.5 hrs = 5.38% for 1 hour.....or 6.5 hrs / 35% * 100 = 18.57 hours total tablet battery capacity....no way.
Even if u used 65% and u are at 35% battery cap remaining it is still about 10 hours, which would be great. Congratulations, my tablet cap is approx. 5.5 hours browsing the web !

This is the type of issue I've been hearing about. And I wanted to know how wide spread it was. Apparently it's not an issue on every device, I may have lucked out or you may have been one of the unlucky few. I really don't know if battery life is an issue on majority of TF700's or not.

The first 6.5hours, yeah only 35% down. Maybe i didn't use it as heavily as you would in that span, but I put a good amount of use to it. It wasn't until 13 hours in that I reached 20%.

The most significant drop in battery life that I saw came after playing games 1hour straight on ips+ mode. It dropped about 12% in that hour.

Mine is getting low fast 30% left in maybe 4 hours runing whit almost everything off and using WiFi

1 day 10 hours is the tablet itself? or during that time did you plug it into the dock? most reviews point to the battery life not being as good as the prime considering a boost in the processor speed and of course the newer higher resolution screen, but if averaging a day and a half of use is normal then im quite sure ill have no problem.

I'm having a hard time figuring out what is normal on this machine. Some report 5 hours with heavy use, 10 hours with normal use. Some like the poster above reports less than 5 hours with normal use. Another hit or miss issue with the TF700. Tell you what, when you get a good one it's FANTASTIC. But there seem to be quite a few lemons out there too.

I think it might be the case where more people complain than they do praise. So it seems like issues are common, where instead it's just common to report issues and uncommon to report flawlessness.

Is just weird to have a new high end tablet whit so few hours of battery.my previous tablet was the iPad2 and the battery time is more than 12 hours

your previous tablet didnt have a 1920 X1200 resolution screen or a quad core processor, these things take a toll on batter life, not to mention the 600 nits of brightness.

I have noticed that turning the brightness way down to say 25-35% helps keep this tablet up and running well beyond that if it was set to 50% or higher. I'm not seeing any loss of clarity or color and actually find websites and apps look better on this lower brightness while indoors. Now, if you were outside, of course you would want to turn it up but this isn't a full-time use case and won't hurt your battery life that much.

I have been able to use the Infinity for about a day and a half on medium use and two-three days on light use. I haven't had a chance to fully push the battery (i.e. heavy media consumption, etc) BUT I will update when I do.

One quick suggestion as well: let your battery drain to almost 0% for the first month or so which will train your battery. If you keep charging it with 50% or more battery, I have found and heard that the battery will suffer in the long run. Anyone else have some more tips for battery saving?

Well, part of it is that some people's "normal" use could be someone else's "heavy" use. Without some clear metrics, it's just a guess.

The biggest power draw on these things will be the screen and (when gaming) the CPU/GPU. If you leave your screen on a brighter setting, your battery will go down quickly. If you set it to 25-40% it will last a lot longer. Depending on what your use cases are, 25-40% brightness may be acceptable to you. That's what I used on my Prime most of the time, and I got great battery life out of it. Then I started using it outside more so I set it to the auto-brightness setting.

On top of that, the apps that you run can make a big difference. If you have social media widgets constantly pulling data from multiple sites and hundreds of contacts, that will eat the battery.

There was also a setting that you could enable on the Prime that disabled networking when the tablet slept. Enabling this setting greatly increased battery life. I'm assuming there will be a similar setting on the TF700, but if you don't turn it on and leave the tablet sleep for a few hours your battery will go down noticeably.

Anyway, to make a long story short, unless someone can give you specific data about their config and how they use it, take what they say with a HUGE grain of salt.

Great points above.

Btw, this setting exists here too. When in settings go to wifi (if you're not there), top right corner, hit that, go into Advanced, then you can select what happens to wifi when tablet sleeps. I put it that wifi will stay on only when tablet isn't sleeping or when plugged into power.
