Battery nosedives if not connected

Has anyone noticed this after the latest Android Wear update? My battery will do just fine (two days for the most part) as long as the watch is connected to the phone. If it gets disconnected though (like leaving the watch inside while at the pool and the phone is out of range), the battery goes head first into emptiness. Couple hours and it loses 30 to 40%. I tested it last night and it only happens if I take the phone out of range or if I turn BT off on my phone. Then the watch dies FAST.

Anyone else seeing this?

Maybe it's like a phone with poor cell signal--could it be eating up battery as it constantly searches for the Bluetooth connection?

Very odd. Left my 360 at home today and took my phone to work. After 9 and half hours, watch only dropped 14%

My 360 battery increases if I cut the Bluetooth off my phone. It will last at least two days. My question is what kills the battery when it's connected

It pings the phone every once in awhile to get the correct time, make sure the apps are updated and the bluetooth is on. With the tiny battery in a watch that is enough to affect its battery life quite negatively. Plus, depending on the watch face you are using, it may check battery level in your phone and your watch and get other data such as weather, step count or fitness data. It also gets notifications and cards from Google now.

In other words all the fun stuff lol. I wish it was more efficient.... Same for android phones too I guess

For me it seems that GMail notifications are the ones that 'bork' the watch sometimes. It's as if those get 'stuck' after deletion or something.
