Battery not lasting as long as others. How do I fix it?

Android Central Question

So I returned my regular Pixel 2 for the XL the other day in hopes of a better battery life. So far it seems like my XLs battery is not lasting as long as the other people I've seen. Yesterday I had 34% left after 15 hours since a full charge and only 3 hours of screen on time. I've seen people get 5 to 7 hours of screen on time, or lasting 2 days since a full charge. I've gone through most of the settings you can mess with under battery. What else can I do to make my battery last as long as everyone elses?

Welcome to Android Central! It really depends on usage patterns. 5-7 hours of screen-on time may have been achieved with fairly constant usage, and therefore not accounting for standby battery usage that occurs throughout the day in more typical circumstances.

Charge up to 100%, then let it drain to 20-30% with normal usage, without charging in between. Then show us:

1. The main Settings>Battery screen.
2. The fullscreen battery graph screen (which shows Awake time and Cell Signal Strength).
3. The Screen category (to see total Screen On time).
4. The Cell Standby category, if present (to see Time Without Signal).

You might have to install a 3rd party battery monitor, like GSam Battery Monitor, to get the Cell Signal Strength graph.
