Hi,

I bought a new Google pixel 2 (2 days ago) and I noticed that the battery drains so fast.

This is what happens:

I made a normal first charge: from 30%. to 100% and as soon I unplugged the cable the battery dropped to 99%, after 5 mins was at 96%

Same thing while using it for 10 mins (simply surfing the web) from 99 to 91%.

Isn't it too fast for a phone bought 2 days ago?

Thanks in advance

Have you checked in battery settings to see whats pulling it down? Maybe an app or?

If you have a lot of apps, when you are initially downloading them you will notice above average battery usage, as the phone is doing much more work than usual.

There is a "fix" of sorts using an app called gservicefix https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.playfulgeeks.gservicefix
Charge the phone to maximum (100%) and then run the app. Once it finishes reboot the phone. Do the same thing THREE times.

For some reason it seems to work.

I also use an app called NapTime to help extend the life. It also works. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.doze

You will have to connect the phone via adb. But give it a go.

Take care...

I had an issue with a fast draining battery and these were recommended to me.
