Some phones have replaceable batteries, some don't. The ones that don't can be replaced, just not by the user, you have to bring it into a repair shop. Why? You'd have to ask the Samsung engineer who made the decision for the particular phone.

It CAN be done if you have a cell repair kit and aren't afraid to open it up. With the right tools, you can DIY. Cell repair kits can be bought online, Walmart even sells a basic one, and you can also get a device-specific kit, for about $10-$15. I can replace screens, digitizers, charging ports...all for the cost of parts. Charge port, $15.00. Cost for a shop to put it in...$75-$100. Well worth it to get some inexpensive tools and do it yourself.

And regarding "as the others," very few phones have easily replaceable batteries any more. Even LG has given up on this feature on the new G6.

And it is possible to waterproof a phone with a removable back. See the Galaxy S5.

I wish they made battery replacement accessable...like having a a center in best buy that can replace the battery. If there is such a place thats certified by samsung im not aware of it.
