Battery Pull?

Only if it freezes up. But the occasional reboot isn't a bad idea. This definitely isn't a Blackberry.

Boy am I glad battery pulls aren't needed with Android - so many pointless discussions about pulling the battery every morning and quickpull on Crackberry.

I do one every once in a while...maybe once a week. I do restart my phone every couple of days though. My wife has a BB and she does it at least once a day if not twice.

Funny, when i had my BB i never had to do a battery pull or hard restart except for when installing applications. Given i wasn't as heavy of a user as I am now on my android, but it still seemed stable. Tour running 5.0...

I wish AIM on the fascinate crashed as often as my battery got pulled on my BB (that is to say never.) Bash blackberries all you want, but you are throwing stones in a glass house.

I too only pull battery when the phone reaches a point at which it won't do anything or respond to anything. most of the time though, a couple of taps on the back or home button will cause the phone to pop-up a Force Close for whatever app is bogging it down.

As for reboots, I would love to leave mine up longer, but in the time that I've had the phone (since release), my "uptime" widget shows that my LONGEST uptime is 4 days 17 hours...

And that's with me allowing the phone to do it's own memory/app management, and giving it some leeway when things start going squirly..

Definitely wish that I were able to go longer without reboot.

I don't think anyone here is "bashing" RIM or Blackberry phones. I personally never did battery pulls either, but the cult following of people who swear by them is difficult to ignore. I really do hope RIM makes a cutting edge phone in the near future.

Just like I hope Google makes a cutting edge phone in the near future... The media experience is great but the rest of the edge (the part that's an actual phone) won't cut for ****. How many times to I have to turn down the "system sound" volume for it to get the picture that I don't want a cute little chirp every time I touch the screen? And yet it keeps cranking it up any time i change some other unrelated setting. Sigh.

You can turn that off by going to menu> sounds and displays>Audible Selection and uncheck the box. No more sound when you touch the screen. You can also turn off the sound when you touch the swype keyboard.

This is one of the first things I do when I install a new ROM and my system settings are reverted.
