I unplugged my S3 this morning and it was at 100%. By the time I got to work ( 15 miniute drive ) I was down to 94%. I made one phone call for 4 minutes and checked facebook once. I swear this thing dies in my pocket fairly fast but if I am on it the battery is better. Anyone have any input or tips or anything to help get the best out of my battery? thanks

I unplugged mione at 5:30 AM this morning, its now 9:10 AM and my battery is down to 95% after almost 4 hours with moderate use.

Sounds like something is running that you don't know about. I have been quite happy with the battery life so far

Settings -> Battery

That will tell you what has taken up the most of your battery.

Also, click on the graph up top - you will also see how many times your device has been awake compared to when the screen is on - if the device has a lot of blue ticks for being awake but the screen isn't on, it means something is keeping your device from sleeping properly...you should check your apps.

How do I check to see?

You can try GSam Battery Monitor. It gives you a break down of how much each app is using the battery.

System Panel. It should show you if a app is causing your cpu to stay high.

Or a app like spare parts.

I unplugged yesterday night and now 9 hours later I'm at 94% with 29 minutes screen on time. Of course I also cut down on syncing and stopped Gmail since I find it wears the battery down.

Under running apps I have settings, facebook, battery circle, plume, scramble free, android system,syncMLSvc,com.samsung.inputE, allshare Play, MAPService Samsung,Google services,Media, Google Play Store, Email, Voicemail,Sync Service, S Voice, Smart keyboard Pro. I dont use hardly any of these? How do I stop them if they are my problem? The only ones I use are facebook, Battery circle, Plume, Smart keyboard Pro,and I look thru the play store from time to time. Help please

You need to post the percentages of the top few apps.

Or post a screen shot if you can. Like this:

That means you would get almost 4 days with moderate use. You must have gotten the super secret battery.

Hold down the home button to bring up the task manager. Then remove all apps, do this from time to time to eliminate unnecessary apps running in the background.

My battery life is horrible, just as bad as my Tbolt.I got up at 7 and took my phone off the charger and around 130 i put in a new fully charged battery. I just had to just a new on in at 730.
When I look at my apps is says my screen is the problem, but it is not on a lot. I have also noticed that it seems when I do not use it, or its in my pocket the battery drains a lot quicker. I am not sure why. It has to be an app running in the back ground some where.

Try turning off syncing one day to see if it's a rogue app eating data.

Also how much screen on time are you getting per charge?

I will turn off auto sync tomorrow to see if that is it. I know it is not entirely my screen because I had about 70% left and my phone was in my pocket and when I remembered to look at it, it was showing my battery down to 35%.

Sounds like one or a few apps are oversyncing unnecessarily or you have a rogue app.

I burn about 1% per hour when my phone is just sitting. Of course I have most things on a slow sync and Gmail is disabled and my other email only syncs every 30 Min.

I was also having a battery problem. So I factory reset the device and all is good again. Even downloaded all my apps and still getting stellar battery.
