This may be a dumb question but....

I know we aren't supposed to leave our phones charging after they reach 100% but does that mean it isn't good to plug in a charged phone to use instead of working off the battery? Sometimes if I am at my desk for a few hours I wonder if I should work plugged in and not "waste" the battery.

Battery should stop charging when it reaches 100%. If it is left plugged in phone will draw power from the AC.

I thought I knew about batteries until recently but apparently not. Keeping a phone between 40 and 80% is what is desired. Don't quote me on that but that's what I read yesterday. Please correct me if I'm wrong as I would like to know. I charge all night but also read this may not be wise.

From what I understand about today's phones and batteries, there is no fear of leaving it on the charger overnight. The phone will automatically stop charging once it hits 100%. In previous years, when batteries weren't as advanced as they are now (man, I feel like I'm dating myself...), they would get damaged if they sat on the charger for longer than necessary. But nowadays, they know when it's time to pull the plug on charging. 😜
