If I leave the phone plugged in after the battery charge reaches 100%, will I get fewer months of life out my battery?

It's convenient to just leave the phone plugged in during the day so when I leave work, it's fully charged, but I've heard that batteries "overcharge" if you leave them plugged in after they're done recharging.

EDIT: Usually at work, I charge by plugging the USB into my laptop. At home, I usually charge with the plug that came with the phone.

There is a chance of this happening. However, it is not as much of a concern with lithium ion batteries as it was with the old NiCAD batteries.

I've had a dinc since launch day and have had it on the charger every day at work for 8+ hours (on a 1000mA charger). Then some days I put it on a charger at night. During the weekends I have not noticed any significant decline in battery life because of this. When I turn off 3G I can easily make it Friday night to Monday morning on one charge.
