I don't know how everyone else feels, but I'm desperately hoping that a future update of Lollipop will salvage the utter disappointment that Battery Saver has been. Yes, we are lucky to have the Moto turbo charger, which I can't live without...but the goal here was to get fast-charging and great battery life. Battery life has been good, and hopefully it has been enhanced with 5.1 (time will tell), but everyone will inevitably end up in a position where they have 15% or 5% left and are not within reach of a charger.
Turning on battery saver does save the phone's battery for a while, but at what cost? The phone loses the will to function anywhere south of 5%. Not only are animations jittery and lag unbearable, but I've found that the phone ends up shutting down at around 3% with battery saver on.
I have to say, this is one area I think Google could've taken a cue from Samsung on. The Power Saver on the S5 simply works right. Yes, you have to go black and white, but at least you get serious mileage out of that thing. Battery saver on the N6 is woefully misleading and on long days away from an outlet, I don't even bother. Now, I pack an external battery and a turbo charger. Is it a hassle? Not really. But if you're going to try and sell us on battery saver, Google, at least make it work.
Am I alone or do y'all feel the same way?
