Battery temp question

Hey guys, what is the operating temp range for galaxy nexus battery. If mine is on charge and being used, the back and front of mine gets very warm and my battery gets to 114°f. Is this too hot? If so, can I just swap batteries or do I have to swap whole phone (rooted and don't want to go through the hassle of stock'ng my phone back). Thanks in advance

anything under 40C is fine

even 45C you are still ok

the phone will shut off on its own if it gets too hot

Mine has gotten that warm when charging + using 4G extensively (while waiting for a flight at the airport, or using navigation while on a car charger). I bought a spare battery and it too gets that warm. I'm not sure if it's normal, but that's my experience at least.

Generally though, my battery temps tend to hover in the 30-35C range in normal usage.
