Android Central Question

I updated my new Pixel 2 XL - bought straight from Google 2 months ago, to version Pie less than a week ago. Though I like most of the tweaks, I'm stumped by the fact that post Pie update:
Battery is:
1. draining way faster than before, but
2. charging way slower than before.
Also,
3. the phone is getting quite warm while charging. Prior to the update, it never seemed warm to the touch. (Just warmed my heart when I used it.)

Please let me know if any patch or update available or coming to take care of battery woes that have started after updating to Pie on my 2 month old Pixel 2 XL?

Thanks!

Welcome to Android Central! Does this all happen in Safe Mode as well? https://support.google.com/pixelphone/answer/2852139?hl=en

I've seen other threads about battery drain on Pie for the Pixels, without any clear explanation yet. At first, I thought I saw some hit to my battery life, but I think it's settled down. This makes me wonder if it has to do with Pie's more "intelligent" battery optimization (which, over time, is supposed to figure out which apps you don't use often, and essentially put them into a hibernation-like mode). I'd give it maybe another couple of weeks and see if the battery drain persists.
