BCC myself in Gmail?

I purchased a new Samsung Galaxy S9 cheap on closeout last year, and I was able to easily figure out how to use the "email" app to always [automatically] BCC myself.

However, with my G-mail account, using the "Gmail" app, I can't figure out how to either automatically BCC myself any e-mails I send or automatically store a copy in the "sent" folder on the server that I could then access via Thunderbird at home.
The latter would be preferable, but I'll take what I can get.

Is there any way to achieve either goal?

In the Compose screen, tap the dropdown arrow to the right of the To field, and you should see BCC there. Or do you see that already, but the emails still don't go to your account?

I meant how to automatically do so, so I don't have to remember to add myself to the bcc field with
every
single
e-mail
I
send
Which
gets
as
tedious
as
reading
this.
I'll often forget.

I set it up to easily do it with my Comcast account, and it was possible with my old HTC One X+'s Gmail app, but why can't I do it on the Galaxy S9?

Oh, I see. I'm not aware of a way to do that with the Gmail app itself. I've never tested my Gmail account on a client like Thunderbird, but I assume that you've found the Sent folder isn't available there, correct?

I read somewhere else that it might only sync the Sent folder if you're accessing Gmail via IMAP through an email client app on your phone as well (like Samsung's Email app). Have you tried that, or do you specifically want to use the Gmail app?

I guess I'll just have to try another app. It's just that things appeared in the "sent" folder using the Gmail app built into my HTC One X+, so I think to use the "GMAIL" app when I want to check my personal gmail account, and I check the "email" account when I want to check my job search (which is then usually used by an employer) e-mail account.
I had no trouble setting up the "e-mail" account to bcc myself.
I'll just have to get used to something else on the new phone.
