Beep noise during conversations

I have noticed that with my 2 friends that have Moto Droids I will be talking to them and I hear a BEEP. At first I figured it was my BlackBerry messing up but it only happens when I talk to them.

Is this a setting that needs to be adjusted?

I ask because my Droid will be here Friday and if I can turn the annoying beep off I would like to.

It's a txt message indicator.
Android doesn't disable that while on a call.

wow so you get notifications while in a call. Actually thats an excellent option I will be glad to have.

if it does it every minute it is what they call the minute indicator beep
