Before using your Note 8 do you need to let it sit for 24 hours to charge?

Hello I just got my new Note 8 can anyone tell me if it's true or false to let it charge for 24 hours before playing with it etc? I heard this helps the battery to last longer for the future?
And I am coming from an iPhone so trying to see if there is anything else I need to know before activating and using my phone.

It used to be that way with the nickel (spelling butchered) batteries, you wanted to completely charge first and run down as much as possible before charging or they were prone to create a memory resulting in less battery performance. Now days with the lithium batteries it is actually hard on them to run dead, it's better to charge more often with today's batteries. Go to battery University. Com to read all about it.

I charged it up to 100 when I got mine and it took maybe an hour or less.

Take it to the race track right out of the box lol. I start setting things up right from the start, when I'm done, I throw it on the charger to give it full charge. That takes less than 2 hours.

NO!. I always use whatever charge the phone got to me with until it gets to about 5% and then I charge it to 100. I never open the box and charge the phone until it needs charging the first time.

always let mine get to room temp if shipped in extreme temps and then fully charge before using.
