Did you read the thread? It's a load of horse crap with no credible info.
I know him well from the OG Droid days so take a step back.
ROOTING is not breaking any laws and there is nothing they can do aside from throwing roadblocks in the way to discourage you. The last thing I will fear in life is a cellular phone company.
Technically it's legal but Verizon doesn't have to allow those devices on their network. In the existing TOS they have "We can, without notice, limit, suspend or end your Service or any agreement with you for any good cause, including, but not limited to: (d) modify your device from its manufacturer's specifications". I can see them watching out for those who are taking advantage of the system and tethering 20-30GB per month but bothering the regular rooters would basically be them hanging themselves.
Rooting is legal, using apps once rooted that allow for free tethering or other services that you would otherwise have to pay for is not. Carriers are going to do whatever they can to prevent that.

You have a bad habit of not paying attention to what you read. Jailbreaking or rooting does not give you the right to use apps that allow for free usage of services you would otherwise have to pay for. If you can't comprehend the difference, please stop posting.
