So here's the deal. I use a mac, and while I have my phone successfully rooted, I cannot figure out a way to flash a ROM to save my life.

The problem is that I can't figure out how to enable sideloading using a mac, thus preventing me from using Titanium Back-up. There's a thread on these forums somewhere that supposedly has the solution, but it's very confusing. Can somebody point me to an easy, step-by-step way to enable sideloading using a mac computer?

Also, ODIN doesn't seem to be available for Mac (I can't find it at least), so flashing a ROM becomes even harder.

To sum it up, I'm obviously new to Android ROM flashing, and just need some mac friendly resources.

Thanks in advance guys! Sorry for being so ignorant :p

Have a Mac? Can't run Odin? Try this. - xda-developers read that heres some software does what odin does on youre big mac Heimdall ? Glass Echidna

if youre not useing it they say the sideloader wonder works in mac the topic best way to sideload on a mac?? - Android Forums the link to the program http://forum.androidcentral.com/android-applications/24362-sideload-wonder-machine-linux-mac.html enjoy learn the allmighty power of google :p:p took me like 1 minute to pull em both up in a google search :p

I've got an iMac, but I also have Win7 Pro on bootcamp so that solves my problems.

I'd try to find some recent version of windows on the cheap, if possible, and use bootcamp or parallels etc.

^ this is what I do and it's a lot easier than trying to find workarounds on OSX.

what work arounds? did youre hooked on phonics get lost in the mail? :p:p i read the threads on both links are mac&linux NATIVE they both work according to the threads, dont get excited ragnarokx im just razzin you :p

I wasn't referring to those two links only, I meant in general =P Windows was a necessity when I had my Blackberry, and with Android it's just more convenient since it's what practically everyone else is using.

well it is more convient to you and me being windows men, but not to the people who run mac or linux to them fiinding a native app is convient..... :p OH and dont talk to me about blackberry i was so pissed when i had a blackberry dual booting just to do stuff to my blackberry, so i went back to the god forsaken windows :p

I'm actually still dual booting - I have a Macbook Pro with OSX 10.6 and Windows 7. The only things I use Windows for is editing .pub files, testing my website on IE, and using Odin/running .bat files. I might even try a triple boot with Linux so I can start messing around with kernels.

That's the problem. According to the threads they work, but they actually don't. The Mac version of ODIN doesn't work with SnowLeopard I guess and the Sideload Wonder whatever is a Wonderful piece of crap that doesn't do anything but open up a .txt file with a wall of text.

So, I'm still stuck at square one. I think I'll just borrow my friend's windows laptop for a night and get the deed done.

The only thing I cannot do with my mac is to sideload using an application and is Kies (the samsung application that does not well with my windows OS 7 in my PC), like on my PC. The rest... no problem rooted my phone and flash the rom I even used dropbox to upload the files for my phone. You can mount via usb both the internal sdcard and the actual external sd... Haven't find the reason to use Odin. Unless I am mistaken, there is also a way to go back to original stock without Odin using a mac... anyway, just my five cents.
