Figure it might be fun.

What we should strive for is using the same benchmarking app. Sure we can discuss the pros and cons of 'x' method vs. 'y' method.

Anyway I just searched benchmark in the market and came up with "AnTuTu Benchmark". Seems to be an all around benchmark app.

So when reply with a benchmark specify your current setup. Obviously we should be mostly Rezound users.

So my setup:

Stock ROM, perm root, deleted most bloat apps, Go Launcher, DroidWall firewall running

Using AnTuTu my device scored a 5861.

Probably should do an average for yourself, as the score seems to vary day to day.

Totally stock, I've run it maybe 6 times over about a week.

Avg.
5650

High
5810

Low
5471

Perm Rooted, BAMF custom rom, custom kernel, overclocked, GO Launcher, de-sensed, de-bloated.
over 500mb free ram after clearing task manager.

High: 6680

Score in picture: 6602

Overclocked to 1836mhz

I need a faster SD card for the purpose of Antutu

Those images are blocked by my work firewall :(

Post the results using the honor system lol

@two last names: 5861 was my rough average. I know what you mean by how it varies day to day though, the other day my device pulled a 6570. I disregarded that.

Ran another today, 5809.

Just noticed. What app did you use to OC? Nice scores btw. I'm at about 400mb free when cleared via task manager.

Another run: 5837

TY kindly.

While I know SetCPU is a staple in the OC Android world, I kind of prefer QuickClock by JRummy16. Once I get the kernel installed I'm going to try Quickclock to see what it gets.

The kernel has a max of 1836. That will be your ceiling regardless of app you use to overclock. Unless you make some changes to the provided kernel.anyway, post your results! Good luck.

Yea was reading through that thread, a few mentions of somewhere there being a kernel with a max of 1.99

I'm pretty excited, my old DX had a lower-quality processor... I could only OC it from 1ghz to 1.05ghz before it became unstable...

Whoa... got a heck of a run tonight.

This is stock, perm root, debloated on Go Launcher with Droidwall running in the background.

That was a good run. It was actually an absurd run TBH. For some reason my 3D graphics score nearly doubled its normal.

Too funny, I'm surprised you even wrangled that much out of it. That phone wasn't destined for glory.

I don't know about that. I know other forum-goers were getting 1.2ghz or 1.3ghz out of that phone. A few even got 1.5ghz, but they never left it at that as the voltage required to keep it stable made for quite the hand warmer.

Installed CleanROM ICS, installed and set up all my apps, just pulled AnTuTu scores of 6252, 6387, 6538, 6152, 6507

Score is out of date!

Details man, details! I see you OC'd up to the 1.8, hows the phone feel on that setting?

LOL, I don't know why it says score is out of date. It was a run from earlier in the day. Anyways, I'm running Scott's CleanROM ICS 4.2 Professional Edition. It is overclocked with SebastianFM's 1.20 version 1.836 MHz Overclocked Kernel. I used SetCPU to set my cpu frequency to max and min of 1836. I am also running SD Booster with cache size set to 8192 kb.

How does the phone feel setup like this? Amazing! It runs very smooth and very fast. No hesitations or lagginess at all. All my apps are performing as expected. My only issue is battery life. Using a stock battery I get about 10 hours of moderate use. I decided to buy HTC's extended battery (not the Mugen 4000) and I easily get a full day with hard use. Of course I'm not thrilled that the extended battery makes the phone bulkier, but its not too bad. My phone is naked, so even with the extended battery its still thinner than alot of phones with cases on them. Actually, the extra bulk makes the phone a little easier to hold, and the extra weight makes the phone feel solid. And its nice not worrying if my phone is gonna make it through the day. Oh, one last thing. My phone does not run hot at all.

try setting the cache size to 4092, should bring better read speeds. I'd get between 30-40mbps+ with a class 4 on that setting.

So it seems like updating to the very latest is worth it, although I could try that kernal on CleanROM2.3 ICS and we can see if there's an appreciable difference.
