There have been many complaints but i would love to see this thread dedicated to the benefits of GB. I have not yet updated bc i am nervous with all the issues. Maybe if i see the benefits i will take the plunge ;)

As far as I'm concerned, there are no benefits....I had my evo swapped for a new one with the update already baked in and I am regretting it everyday. If you want gingerbread, root and check out the available roms..... since i have gotten my "new" evo, i have worse battery life and worse data coverage...... I dislike my evo so much that I am considering putting it up for trade on craigslist......or shelving it till the update gets broken....

sorry for not keeping to your parameters for this thread.........

I have to admit also that Froyo was more stable and predictable. I have to also admit that after the GB update, I'm definitely considering rooting, as it seems that rooting and roming has more benefits than GB. I personally think HTC and Sprint conspired on a half baked GB update in order to inspire current EVO owners to buy the new EVO 3D. That trick isn't going to work on me. This will be my last HTC phone.

There are lots of benefits to GB... Just not a Sense based version.

I've been running Gingerbread 2.3.4 on my eVo for a few months now and battery, speed and stability are the benefits. Just it has to be AOSP or you won't really see any of those benefits.

HTC Sense is nothing more than "bloatware" just like all of those useless Sprint apps that do nothing more that eat up RAM, data and batteries.

AOSP is how Google intended Android to be. Not all that flash and eye candy that the different manufactures and carriers add to there devices to make them different from the next guys/companies devices. It all just ends up loading up your device with a bunch of useless data, space and power hungry apps, and ruins the user experience.

My advice is, if you haven't done the update... "DON'T!!!" Root your eVo, find yourself a nice AOSP Rom (I suggest Decks) and enjoy Android for how it was really ment to be. You won't regret it.... promise.

Decks Rom Rules, Other Roms Drool!!! :-p
Thanks for tryin!!!
