I tried BB 2.1, but I'm not fond of no pinch to zoom in its browser or its lack of smoked glass - I tried Ultimate Droid Rom yesterday and it was really really unstable for me - even at 800 MHz, it rebooted on its own several times.

OR

Is there a way to rollback the firmware from 2.1 to 2.0.1, cause that seems to be my biggest obstacle in getting DroidMod or BB 0.7.9 back on there.

Any thoughts?

Luckily your gmail account will back up your contacts, so you dont have to worry about those. Setting up after the downgrade can be a bit of a pain, depending how much you have currently set up on the device, but it will be worth it to be stable on the device again, trust me.

Just a heads up if you have the option don't use the 2.1 launcher.I've had so many issues using it. good luck though hope you find a stable Rom

Make sure you follow all of these steps, in order.

-Update (if available) all of your apps before installing
-Backup any files you wish to restore, this will wipe /data
-Extract the files from the archive using WinRAR or a similar program
-Place the extracted folder (the ROM) into the "nandroid" folder on your sdcard
-Reboot into recovery mode
-Wipe data/factory reset
-Wipe cache partition
-Backup/Restore
-Advanced Nandroid Restore
-Choose backup (select the ROM)
-Perform Restore

Yeah, I did - I did this a couple of times yesterday when installing different versions of Bugless Beast

Let's try again though, just in case - it wouldn't be the first time I messed something up <.<
