Good Morning,

I'm new here but have been lurking for a while. I am looking for a Music Player app that plays nice with MacBook Pro and Itunes. I would like to sync Play counts and ratings both ways. I have tried doubletwist but it only let's me sync playlists and doesn't seem to sync play counts/ratings and it crashes for me on MBP (or very slow). I am currently using Moto Media Link but it only syncs playlists and not play counts/ratings. I would like to be able to sync other ways besides playlists (i.e. artist, albums, genre) without making a new playlist.

I am using WinAmp as my music player on the phone but they don't have a Mac app that I am aware of.

Thanks for your help

Doubletwist is the only thing you're going to get for now that i know of. I like it a lot but because of the UI on the phone.

Upload to Amazon Cloud so it doesn't take up space on your SDCard and just use Amazon MP3 to play it with and then you can download whatever songs you want to your device and then I recommend using PowerAMP player for songs on your Atrix. But music player with an EQ too.

I agree, I like the Amazon mp3 / cloud player application ... Works great and doesn't use up my storage card.

thanks for the suggestions. I do have cloud player installed. Unfortunately, most of music listening on the phone is away from wifi and where I live and do most of my exercising, I only have Edge data. Also, still looking for a syncing option with ratings, play counts. I may give DoubleTwist another try.

I live in an area that is primarily edge and sometimes no signal if driving to and from work. The Amazon cloud player takes a bit to initialize on a slow connection, but once it does, it played through dead spots without a hitch. I am not sure how much it buffers, but it did an excellent job playing on a spotty and stable edge connection.

It's definitely worth a shot imo.

I use iSyncer. There are free versions so you can try it out. It only syncs your playlists, you can use any music player you want. There is also a wifi sync version. It is really simple to use, no programs to install on your Mac, and I have never had an issue with it. I do not know if it syncs ratings or playcounts b/c I have never looked.

As far as music player, I recently tried Player Pro. Not too bad, and it has a nice sized lock screen widget.

The best music player I have tried is Power Amp. I have never "sync"ed music in my life though. I just drag and drop.

Have you tried the Motorola Media Link Software for sync'ing from your MBP to your phone? It works extremely well for me as I sync'ed over 25GB's of music to my phone. By the way it pulls from your iTunes Library, and it's free from Motorola.

While this does not answer your question regarding a music player on your device this should just you some better options for sync'ing. You can always use the Amazon or DoubleTwist app on your phone.

On a side note I agree with your on play count and ratings as that's the way I manage which songs I sync to my phones.

I haven't used it on the mac, but iSyncr works wonders with playcounts and ratings. It has its own widget to change ratings on your music which syncs back to itunes. however if you use Player pro then it integrates with iSyncr for ratings as well. then at that point you are all good. like an iphone/ipod, smart playlists and all.
