Best battery Life

I am getting kinda tired of my battery life. I remember before when Froyo starting coming out (One of the Froyo leaks) my battery would last for two days of messaging internet using and a few calls. Now that I've been running SFR 1.2 w/ Genocide 2.0 and Gingerbread (EG22 deodexed and EH17 Era Hurricane Fat Free 1.6) I'm lucky to get one day wotrh of battery life (say from 6am to about 6pm)

Has anyone out there been running a custom ROM or stock ROM for that matter that is getting good battery life? Using the phone wthout having to worry of what your doing with your phone or is your phone dying already kinda thing. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Short of rooting and using Titanium Pro to freeze bloatware or other apps until you need them, I'd suggest these things:
-After bootup, go to Menu/Settings/applications/manage applications/services and shutdown DRM (it has a long name that starts off OrmDRM or something like that) and SNS Service.
-Go to Menu/Settings/applications/manage applications/ and select the "Running" tab and select/force close any remaining apps you don't want running like Sprint Zone, etc.
-This is BIG: Log OUT(or sign out) of Lattitude, Facebook, and Amazon (or Amazon MP3). Note, just closing these 3 don't stop them from secretly draining your battery, you must SIGN OUT of these services.
-Turn GPS and Autosync when not using them.

As rando mentioned anything that "polls" a server like for email or social media updates is your biggest enemy. My wife is a nurse and also ongoing student in a masters of nursing program so she gets tons of emails daily from school and also work related. Plus she is involved in mass social media as most professional nurses and doctors are so shes constantly has stuff rolling into her various accounts.

She complains about battery all the time... Just to prove it to her I changed her email polling from every 15 minutes to 2 hours and that alone made a huge difference. Then I did the same with her social media (Tweetdeck). Her battery life increased dramatically and I explained to her for those in between times it only takes an extra few seconds to open the app and have it manually check for updates/emails/etc...

What many people always seem to forget its not so much the constant polling that is killing the battery its the content that has to be downloaded into the phone especially if your getting a lot of emails, etc... All that is downloaded in and that is where your chewing up battery..

Just my two cents...

For what its worth shes running Bonsai 4.1.3 with Bonsai's own kernel.

Well, Im runnning Hurrican fate free v1.6 with a couple of things added to it. And I do jse Titanium Backup Pro to freeze stuff I dont use. But I thing I'm gng to give Bonsai a try. Do u k.ow what version shes running?

I'm running AOSP v4 (EC05) with the EG22 modem. I have Gmail for 5 accounts and K9 polling every 30 minutes. On a day when I am in good wifi range, I unplug at 7am about and at 7pm have about 40-50% left on the battery. That's with basic use -- mostly idle, 30sec to 1min phone calls, email checking, making about 5-10 minutes worth of 720p video/handful of photos, and sending/receiving about 2 dozen texts per day. When I am involved with heavier use (above + browsing, gaming), I get about 10-12 hours out of the phone. I don't have social media streaming. I don't stream Netflix (well, when I was on Hurricane ROM anyway).

I have noticed that reception is a big issue. I live in Chicago, and the best modem to date for me has been EG22. Reception is poor in my area of Chicago. When I was vacationing in San Francisco, reception was much better and with the same activity, the battery lasted 25% longer.

Reception is a HUGE issue (I have an Airave (no charge from Sprint) in the house...6 bars on both floors and 3-4 in the basement) and we have a Zboost antenna booster in the office (cost split b/w 3 office mates, so $40 to me), so I leave 3G on all the time now whereas I needed to manually switch to roaming in my home and office (I would use wifi at home for data). Note: you must root to be able to control roaming. I manually turn sync on a few times a day to check my email so I'm not polling all the time (some of you that rely on email probably don't have that option). I was planning to switch to SRF Frozen until I discovered the Amazon problem. Also, I froze stock Gallery due to the sensor bug and I recently discovered Dolphin Browser as a much less drain on resources (including battery and memory) than stock browser...

Well, strangely enough, EG22 Deodex happens to be the ROM that gives me the best battery life. I'm running the Stock Theme with battery, with no maddoging lock screen nor AIO mod. I have even gone back to SFR1.2 with Genocide 2.0 and nothing compares to this ROM when It comes to battery life, in my opinion. I just wish I knew how to turn off the LOW batt thing that won't allow you to take a pic or watch a video. I don't care so much for the GPS as it locks pretty often when Using Google maps. If anyone could help me out on turning off the low batt thing this would be my ROM to keep.
I fully charged overnight, and did the batt calibration thing (wait until the phone is fully charged, turn it off and wait until it's fully powered down, plug the phone and wait uuntil it tells you it's fully charged, unplug, boot into CWM and wipe batt stats.) Well,I hope this helps anyone outthere lookin for a ROM that really gives you good life.

Also, I've frozen most of the apps, and deleted most of the bloatware and goolge apps I'd never use. Undercloacked at 800mhz, with off screen profile 100 -400mhz with setCPU.
