Best Buy pre-order how bad will it be?

They have a great deal on the LG G4 but I've heard some nasty things about their reorder process, anyone hear the same?

I'm sure it varies from store to store but I usually shy away from Best Buy (or Worst Buy as I call them) although they have my attention with the card thing if you pre-order. I haven't read up on the details so I'm not sure if the gift card thing will work if you want to buy the device full donkey. In addition, my local area store is absolutely horrible at price matching. Sure, Verizon may sell if for $600 but Worst Buy will mark it up over that cost and find some way not to price match. Some people have reported their "pre-ordered" device never made it to the store until several days after the release.

Unless I find something that is a great deal, I stay away.

I've had no issues with my local best buy store for the last 3 or 4 phones. It looks like the price on Sprint (if I decide to stay) will be $49 higher at best buy but since you can apply the gift card to the purchase, the phone will be $50 cheaper than at a Sprint store. Sure it would be better on a price match but it's still a win.

After reading this and going through the checkout procedure (without completing but at that point), I didn't see squat about the gift card for those paying full price. I understand you get the card when you purchase but you'd think it would be mentioned. Has anyone that is upgrading and/or adding a line seen anything when you pre-ordered?

"Offer valid 5/22/15–7/4/15. Pre-order and release date may vary by carrier. Color may vary by carrier. Gift card presented at the time of LG G4 purchase. Offer not combinable with other offers. If you return your cell phone, for any reason, your gift card will be forfeited. Carriers, coverage and products may vary by store. Available in New Jersey. Same price new and upgrade unless otherwise noted. Best Buy may require an existing line of service to receive a new 2-year plan. Carrier requirements may include select plan subscriptions, additional data add-ons, credit approval, usage fees, taxes, surcharges and termination fees. 4G/4G LTE not available in all markets. See a Mobile Phone Specialist for details."

I was told prior to going to the local Best Buy the gift card could be used against the purchase price for the next plan, but when I went into the store I was told it is for just those who are buying the phone outright to do this and that I can use it in the store since I am on the next plan.

I put $50 down and ordered it anyway since I have other things to buy there.

Either way it's a good deal for me and am looking forward to getting the phone.

This is the first time I've pre-ordered through Best Buy, due to the hoops Verizon made me go through for the Galaxy 6. Order for June 5 and arriving next day. For those not in the know like myself, what are these "preorder issues" that Best Buy is known for?

Since it was advertised I'd like the $100 gift card, but getting the phone on time and not having too many issues is my first priority.

I called the store and the associate I talked to was about clueless and knew nothing about the deal. But in general the gift cards they give are after the purchase of the device and can't be used against the purchase of that device. Which of course makes perfect sense, that's supposed to get you back into the store spending money elsewhere. I didn't even think about it being different but I'm interested in full purchase price. I think I will give BBY a pass on this one, the price seems to have a healthy markup already and even if it all worked you might only save $30 off the price elsewhere.

I guess it's a race between AT&T and Amazon, whoever gets a preorder up first gets my money.

I doubt many of the best buy reps have been briefed on the promo since it just hit the website yesterday. I plan to talk to my local store sometime this weekend so I'll see what they say.
