Best Buy vs Samsung purchase

I bought my Note 9 last week from Best buy and only got a $100 reduction on the overall financing from Verizon.

Samsung, however, offers new purchasers that same Verizon credit and for an additional $100, a samsung case, the iconx earbuds and the duo charger.

What would you guys do? I'm thinking that I'll just return it to Best Buy and order from Samsung as I doubt Best Buy will match. Right?

You're still within the time frame, so why not go for the $100 extra? (Just back everything up to make sure you have it.)

You could ask BB if they will but, as you said, I doubt it too.

Keep in mind Best Buy will charge you a restocking fee, so where would that put you cost-wise?

What I'm a little bit annoyed by is that this week, Best Buy is offering a $150 gift card and the $70 Samsung Wireless Fast Charger with the purchase of the Note9 on VZW. You lose the $100 discount, but obviously this is a much better bargain. I bought last week as well for the $899 installment price.

I saw. So, it will be a $35 cost to get all of that. Which one would you do?

Best Buy. At least if anything goes wrong with the phone, you can wreck havoc and complain in person at any Best Buy store. Dealing with Samsung through the phone and online will drive you nuts if anything is wrong with the phone.

I'm not a fan of those earbudds or the cases they're offering, so that offer does nothing for me personally. But if you're going straight value, the Samsung offer is better. But I'd prefer the gift card for BB where I could get whatever case and accessories I wanted.

If you're seriously considering buying through Samsung, be prepared for the backorder delay until the end of the month or maybe even next month to receive it

I think that if ones wants to get the new Best buy promotion and already has the Note, he must return the old one and get a new one.

I just cancelled my back ordered Samsung order and bought from BB. I traded in my S9+ for $400 plus got the $150 BB gift card and the $70 wireless charger. Samsung was giving me $450 plus the AKG headphones but I have no idea when I would have gotten it. Problem with there trade in process is if they deem the phone has an issue for any reason they will give you nothing for it and keep it because you sent it to them. I wasn't taking that $450 gamble.

The convenience of walking into Bestbuy and trading in my Note 8 for $450, purchasing the Note 9 Thanos Edition with everything transferred over and walking out the store with new case was just too irresistible.

Did it yesterday, all setup and good to go today. Done deal!

After my experience documented here, Best Buy for sure. It would be a no brainer for me if they actually compared to what Samsung offered, but no one else is giving me $300 for my S7 Edge. And yes, I will get that despite the horror stories about Samsung's policies, I am going to photo and video document everything and I will get the BBB and AG involved if I have to.

For Verizon you only get the $150 if a new line. Not a fan of wireless charging, since gets the battery near hot.

No, I had the line and this was an upgrade. So, the ultimate cost for the note was reduced by $100 to $900

Same here. I owed $420 on my Verizon S8+ (got that phone in July last year, was holding out for the Note 8 but my Note 5 took a dump) and they just cancelled that payment arrangement in exchange for the phone. With that $100 off, the Note 9 was a no-brainer as it was only $2/mo more than the S8+.

Yea I'm either using best buy or Amazon for the note 10 especially if I get the beefed up model. Just easier to deal with.

The Samsung deal sounds like the better way to go, but with all the hoops you have to jump through, plus Samsung's spotty support should you need to return the phone makes Best Buy the more comfortable choice.

I got my 512 blue through a local kiosk and all I got was the free headphones. I did however net a an overall reduction in my Verizon bill being they set me up for a discount since I'm a retired vet.

Anyway though I like the Samsung deal, comfort wise, Best Buy.

BTW, Verizon still has not shipped my 512 preorder to Best Buy yet. Then again, were it not for the delay, I would not have got to trade my S8 in for $450 instead of my 9+ for the unlocked deal.. Still got the A60 cans too. 9+ is better for me as a backup. I only used the S8 for Gear VR.
