best camera/video app on evo?

Running CM7 and the front facing camera part of the camera app sucks like no other (only complaint, awesome rom), what is the best Camera app you guys have found for pics (especially front facing camera) and vids on the Evo???

Well, first, I think it's best to set realistic expectations. It's a phone first and foremost.... A camera (ESPECIALLY a ffc) is really just icing on the cake.

Now that the rant is out of the way, hard to go wrong with Vignette. They have some options that let you really tweak the camera settings. Because of all the processing, it's not the fastest, but it does well. They even have a free demo so you can try it for a month before you spend the $5.

The other (or complementary) option is to download photoshop express. It's free, and it lets you really clean up the photos post-shot. I've saved a few that I thought were bad. But it has it's limits.

Summary, there are a few options out there, but the honest answer is that the current line-up of phones is not going to replace medium/high end point-and-shoot. If you insist on using your camera for such, be sure to have good lighting (helps tremendously with the Evo), and don't be afraid to change your settings depending on the situation. I have been running the Sense 2.0 roms and the camera app is pretty sweet. Very simplified for switching front to back and photo to video. Plus it can add all those PhotoShop effects.

+1 for vignette. totally worth it. I haven't found anything better than the stock so far for video. Though I haven't really looked much.

Ditto on Vignette... I will say to BUY the paid version not just get the free version. Free version limits you to two Megapixls. Vignette lets you take previous gallery pics and edit them also via import under menu, I like that. If you're into BW with pops of color go for Color pop and or color switcher. People love the photos I print out and put on my desk from these, they don't believe it was done with a cell phone.

I must be missing something, I think eVo camera is outstanding. With the brightness settings along with flash setting and zoom setting it does not matter what the lighting is. If you use the settings right picture are great. I make glossy prints with my hp web printer and my friends can't tell that I printed them myself.

Is there an app for video recording. The standard video qaulity is fine on the Evo, just the sound playback is horrible and was wondering if there is an app that will solve that issue?? Thanks
