Best case for one-handed use?

Just trying the Nillkin FS case and it's not bad. The back isn't as grippy as I thought despite the "little protruding dot patterns", but it's the best so far of all the "non-fingerprint magnet" cases that I've tried (including Spigen Liquid Air). The sides are actually a bit slippery and makes me wonder why they didn't spread the dot texture to these sides. It's very hard to remove once it's on too. But it's very thin and solid, and again, the back is the most grippy of all thin cases I've tried so far that aren't fingerprint magnets - I find it's very hard to find a case that has the best balance of being very grippy on the back while not being a fingerprint/dust magnet.

By "very grippy", I mean being able to hold the phone almost vertically (or at least at a decent angle) with one hand without it slipping out - the clear cases that I've tried are all pretty much able to do this very well, because your fingers basically "stick" to the case (but that's why they are fingerprint magnets). Has anyone got any other suggestions of good cases like this? So far, the Nillkin FS comes the closest with the best balance. I find this quite important because I like using the phone one-handed.

If you need good grip on the sides get a UAG.
Also Spigen makes some good cases.

Was hoping my original post had made it clear, but I'll try again. The case needs to be very good for one-handed use:
1. A good way to test for what I mean by this (let's call it the "vertical test") is to hold the phone as vertically as possible (without resting any fingers under the phone). Ideally it should get close to 90 degrees, but anything over 50-60 degrees is decent.
2. It can't be a fingerprint magnet (most clear cases perform the vertical test very well - pretty much almost 90 degrees, but they are invariably fingerprint/dust magnets).
3. It needs to be a thin case. The Spigen Liquid Air is the thickest I'd accept.

I haven't found a Spigen thin case which achieves the above. The best is probably the Liquid Air (as it has sort of a pattern on the back which gives it slightly more grip), but it's barely able to achieve about 45 degrees from the vertical before slipping out. It feels like the Nillkin Frosted Shield case only does slightly better (due to the even more pronounced pattern on the back), but better is better I guess.

The galling thing is that while people complain about the "naked" phone being slippery (due to the glass back etc), it's actually very grippy for one-handed use and achieves almost 90 degrees in the vertical test - however, the reason it's able to do that is the same as for the clear cases - it effectively "sticks" your fingers on the back, thus making it a fingerprint magnet.

I'm the same as you. It is really hard to find a decent case with the kind of grip we want. I've got the Nillkin and it's not the greatest but it's ok. I'm using this Galaxy S9 Case,Clear Slim Hybrid Perfect Fit Hard Anti Scratch Excellent Grip Flexible Tpu Non Slip Shockproof Protective Cover for Samsung Galaxy S9 https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B079R68...ag=hawk-future-21&ascsubtag=UUacUvbUpU6245506 and its great. Its part see through and great for one handed use, the fingerprints don't show much either so not constantly cleaning it. It's cheap too, just £5.99.

That looks like fingerprints would show at least a bit, since it's a somewhat clear case.

Have you tried this one?:

Also this gets good reviews, but I'm skeptical at how grippy it is:

I love the otterbox defender. It's very grippy and easy to hold at all sorts o angles one handed. It feels very secure.

Update - I've answered my own question on this case:

It's actually the best so far that I've tried in terms of one-handed grip and not being a fingerprint magnet. Be sure to get the "Gravel" version, as I think the other ones have bad grip. Some reviews mention issues with durability though, but I'll feedback over time here I guess. It's got barely a lip on the front, if any, though. This doesn't bother me, but it may to some others.
