I just want to know if you people at Android Central will tell me about their case experience with Ballistic or Otterbox.

For reviews on Otterbox (probably Ballistic too) go to Amazon and Otterbox's website. Don't know which Otterbox model you're considering but reading the reviews from both of those sites convinced me that I shouldn't buy the Defender. I bought a BodyGlove ToughSuit that I like very well.

I definitely love the Otterbox! It keeps my phone from getting scratched.

Urban armor gear is by far the best. I loved it more than all of my otterbox cases for this phone.

LifeProof is in the process of designing a GS3 case. I have found them to be the best bang for the buck while keeping the phone profile slim and adaptable.

Both make very good cases in my opinion. Currently I'm using my Ballistic more due to the slimmer form factor. I too am waiting for lifeproof to bring out the case for the S3. But I am also looking forward to the Otterbox Armor series case to come out, it's supposed to be extremely durable. When I'm not working I'll use my UAG Aero. So all in all it'll be up to you and your personal taste and what you are wanting the case to do for you.

Thanks for all of your opinions. I got the Ballistic SG. Even though the Defender is very durable there is one downside, the silicone starts to stretch and looks awful. The Armors Series is the best on the planet though. I got shocked by the things it could do.:)

I've got the white one (about 5 mos.) and no signs of discoloration

Well today 5-6-13 I received the Otterbox Armor Series for my SGS3. I'm very impressed, the case though bulky is everything Otterbox claims. And I am having none of the other problems reported with people with the iPhone 4 & 5 as far as the sound goes. The sound degradation on the main earpiece is negligible at best I mean it's barely noticable. The speakerphone is still just as good as it was. I have no issues with the sound at all. The quality of the case is great thus far. I will post again after a couple of weeks use to let everyone know how it's performing.

I've had an urban armor gear case for a couple months now. It is the best $20 I've ever spent! Perfect case!

I have the otterbox defender and it keeps my phone safe. However, the screen protector is horrible. It is soft plastic that fades and scratches easily. Furthermore, when the rubber cover gets old it pulls away from the corners and mine has stretched enough that if it werent for the port covers it would probably fall off. Overall, it is a satisfactory case but the durability of the materials is in question. The case is about 7 months old.

composed by my imaginary construct for you.

In regards to Lifeproof the company is full of it. By the time the case comes out we will all be wearing Goolge Glasses.

Otterbox Defender does have a issue with the outer rubber cases pulling away from the case on the first versions but call the customer service in Ft Collins , CO:) Gladly replaced with new case ! Good customer service based in this country too ! :)

Would you be willing to give us an update on your Otterbox Armor case? I'm considering it for my device but wonder how it ages. Thanks!

No problem about the Armor series. The case is still doing very well. No problems what so ever. Now though I seldom use it except on certain work days. Usually now the lifeproof does the most duty because it has a slimmer more pocket friendly size.

I have the UAG AERO and the Seidio OBEX. The Aero is a very slim yet durable snap on case that matches the GS3's style and color perfectly, it's easy to forget that I have a case on the phone. The AERO is my every day case and it was well worth the $20 I spent on Amazon. Now, onto the Seidio... I bought the version that Seidio makes exclusively for Best Buy stores under the name Platinum. This case is amazing, plain and simple but at a hefty price tag but we'll get to that in a minute. The case is drop, shock, crush, rain, dust and wind proof but the real draw to this case for me is that it is immersion proof in 3 meters of water for up to 30 minutes. That being said, I filmed over an hour of video at 15-20 feet under water while snorkeling. The GS3 stayed completely bone dry and worked perfectly. The case definitely adds a little bulk but is still somewhat streamlined and due to it's polycarbonate exterior slips in and out of my pocket effortlessly. The case is hard plastic overall and utilizes an "air suspension system" via foam pads on the interior. Every speaker/microphone is protected via a hydrophobic membrane which allows sound to pass through without distortion. The charge/data port and headphonne jack are accessible via silicone plugs and the camera and flash are protected by optical grade glass so your pictures/videos still come out crystal clear. They even applied micro dots to the inside of the screen protector to avoid the watermark effect you get when it sticks to the phone's screen (anyone who's had an Otterbox Defender knows what I'm talking about). The only downside I can think of to this case is the slight bulk and that it doesn't offer much in the style department, it's more utilitarian in appearance like something Batman might have on his belt and there is only one color option, black. So now to the price, Best Buy carries the case for about $70 and also has a holster option for an additional $20 and they are sold separately (no combo deal). This truly is an impenetrable case and much less bulky than the Otter box Armor series. Hope my 2 cents helps somebody out there.

Garbage. My friend dropped hers with a ballistic, imo it doesnt matter what's on the back because the phone has a plastic back. But the front shattered like broken dreams. Me, 6mo and no SP. No scatches scuffs or hazzy spots. I have a $1.32 clear tpu gel case and dropped it once on the floor (ceramic tile) and nothing. So go with what looks/feels good for you. But if you want a SP I would recommend one that is tear/puncture proof. I had one on my iphone4(before I made the switch) I pulled it out of my pocket on break at work and it some cirque de ole $h|t 2 extra feet in the air onto some rocks screen down. I didn't even look at it till my next break. It gouged the SP but no mark on the screen. I know I know 100% luck. Sorry for the rant.
