Best case for the Open.

My OnePlus open is almost here, so I need to find a case for it. Hopefully the case included will suffice, but if not, does anybody have a recommendation for a good case.

Did you get the green one? If so then you will most likely have to live with the included case until something better becomes available. This is why I went with the black "leather" backed version. It has a plastic back under the leather so if I don't like the included case it can go without one until something becomes available. YMMV

The included case (black one) is MEH at best. I'm not sure that any case maker will be able to do anything much better! The part that covers the back, where the camera carbuncle resides, is OK, the part that covers the front side is not very good. Maybe someone will make a better/stronger one? Glad I got the black one because it doesn't have a glass back and I am going without a case for the first time in memory. YMMV

I'm personally rocking it case free. If I have to use a case I'll just use the one that came in the box. Some of the third party cases on Amazon are just going to make the phone bulky. Personally I like the phone as is.

Any updates on what cases are decent for the Open? How is the included case? Been looking at Amazon, and eying the Official OnePlus Open Protective case.

Just pre-ordered this. Looks decent

No drop protection of course, but these skins offer scratch protection, and retain the slim profile.

Another option, if you like the "naked" look & feel, but want some protection when in transit. It looks good and is hand made, gets great reviews, and even offers embossed personalization at no extra charge. But $62 PLUS shipping?! 🤑

I think I found the best case. I settled on this one (the large hole version) and have been using it for a couple months. The cutouts and fit are perfect, and it doesn't have the floppy left-edge issue when folded that so many other cases have. Pricey, but worth it.

Update, used this for a few months, only used the kickstand maybe 4 times. Was just reading reviews on Amazon that mentioned the kickstand breaking where it mounts. I thought mine hadn't done that. I pulled my phone out, opened the kickstand easily, heard a crack, and it was broke, shrug. Back to the Nillkin case I guess with the front from the Nuleto case for the glass screen protector. I purchased straight from Poetic, I have sent them an email, we'll see if they will refund. Really don't want an exchange.

Update: Poetic is sending a new case, no refund.

Better than nothing, but it probably leaves a distaste for the brand. Oh well, you liked it enough to get it once; maybe the second time will be the charm. GL!
At least this replacement doesn't have the annoying click the hinge cover made on my first one, it would move up and down just a little and make a click noise. Not going to use the kickstand on this one. What I do use and missed immediately after removing it was that since the case is so thick you can just stand it up on any edge(when closed) , so there's that.
