Best free password manager

I just downloaded Bit Warden as a password manager so I can transfer or save all of my iOS passwords when I switch to Android next week. I’ve only been on iOS for 1.5 years so I’m certain that most of my passwords are saved on Google as well. I was going to try 1 Password, but apparently it’s not free to use. I thought at one point it was.

It wasn’t too difficult to upload my iOS keychain passwords to it. I just had to use the browser after exporting my passwords into a csv file.

This is why I hate iOS because it doesn’t take long before you start adopting their way of doing things and find yourself slipping deeper into their ecosystem. If you’re on iOS, then it makes sense and it’s easier and convenient to use iOS apps and services. But I now see why it’s so difficult to leave the longer you use iOS.

If anyone has any other suggestions for free password managers other than Bit Warden, let me know.

BitWarden (the one I use and love it!) works on any platform and syncs with no issues! If you have your passwords there on iOS, you will have them on Android without a problem. I keep them on Windows in the app and in the browser extension and they're all synced.

Device passkeys stored in Bitwarden are a different story because they're device-specific, but you can transfer those as well from within Bitwarden between phones.

don't know why you want something other than Bitwarden. bitwarden is considered one of the best when you read different reviews. I swapped to them from Lastpass a few years ago and not looked back. It will work in most browsers and operating systems.

+1 for Bitwarden. I use the Android app & ChromeOS web UI, wife iOS app and both of us on macOS web UI.

Make sure you write down your master password and store somewhere safe. You may get prompted to enter it to unlock your database a few times per year or more often.

Didn't know about Bitwarden will look into it. , I've always used default Google or Samsung pass

Those work great... if you're into that ecosystem. I guess Google works as long as you use Chrome elsewhere. That's where Bitwarden shines: it's really accessible and platform-agnostic, with a lot more features than 'just passwords/passkeys' like Google or Samsung's lockers.
