Best Headphone Audio

Ok, so I like listening to music and need to do it using headphones but would love if someone can guide me so that I can get the best experience there is.
1. Which phone has the Best Headphone Audio?
2. How do you determine that?
3. What headphones do you use to listen to your music through your cellphone?
4. Would using iPhone headphones give you the best experience or you need to have high end over-ear headphones?

1. Best is subjective. The best hardware is in the LG V10 or the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro.
2. By using audio benchmarking hardware/software that gets frequency response and noise/crosstalk data of the output signal. Or by listening — both ways are correct.
3. Use the right headphones for the output amplifier. Generally, look for a pair that fit well and are between 30-60 Ohms for a portable device.
4. iPhone earbuds aren't going to sound good a high volume on any phone with a dedicated output amp.

1. I used to have G5 Plus as main device for many activities including listening to music.
2. It has HI-FI Plus DAC supported, that is the main reason why it should on the top of list.
3. It backs to our needs, i probably used my Sennheiser 363D for most all of the time. I see a review from this site and decided to make my choice on it.
4. Nah, the sounds performance is average. Don't put much hope on it.

The best smartphone for audio is probably the LG V20 or HTC 10. In terms of earphones or headphones, there are too many variables to say. You are best avoiding bluetooth and going for a pair of traditional over the ear cans most likely. The real question is how much are you willing to spend.

I have the Pixel XL 2, and I don't believe it is known for it's sound output. Be that as it may, I did just recently get the Bowers and Wilkins PX headphones. All I have to say is wow! What amazing sound. I am discovering new things in songs that I have listened to many times. As far as I can tell, Bluetooth vs wired USB-C connection to the Pixel XL 2 is the same. I have never heard Bluetooth headphones that have sounded this good.
