Best non T-mobile prepaid plan for Nexus 4?

I decided to switch to the new AT&T go phone plans with my Nexus, and I'm loving it so far. I get very consistent signal in Chicago, and the ping time is much faster. Thus far, I'm getting 2-5 mb down and 1-3 mb up while at home, and I get 6-10 mb down and 2-4 mb up while I'm out. This is great and speedy. Let's see how I feel after a month test drive.

What is the coverage\performance difference between go phone plans and their "normal" voice+data plan, and are there restrictions to obtaining it for regular AT&T accounts?

Regarding $60/mth 2gb data, unlimited voice-text plan, web site tells me my account (from phone number prompt) doesn't qualify. WTF?

I have been with tmobile prepaid since they launched the N4. Over the past couple of months the coverage has been horrible and almost no coverage anywhere in my home.

Last week I picked up an AT&T go phone SIM and signed up for their $60/mo 2GB plan, it's the same plan and price I had with T-Mobile. WOW! What a difference! I get service everywhere now! I am extremely happy with AT&T coverage where I live now. Granted with T-Mobile I was peaking at 12-14 mbps download (when it worked) and now with AT&T i'm around 5-7 MPBS (But it works almost everywhere).

I'm a happy camper and advise anyone looking for better service than t-mobile to check out AT&T Go Phone

I think AT&T's prepaid GoPhone service doesn't offer roaming, especially for data. You need a postpaid contract plan for roaming.

If you want to switch from a postpaid account to a prepaid one, you need to meet certain requirements (listed here). It's probably a good idea to dial 611 from your phone and speak to customer service to help you.

Thanks. I just went ahead last night, popped by the AT&T store and changed my account over to prepaid. We'll see how it goes for a few months. If I'm not satisfied, I guess I'll T-mobile no-contract. Either, should be saving plenty of money every month henceforth.

IMO that is the best prepaid carrier to be with. ATT has great service and for $60 a month you get LTE if available. That same plan not pre-paid cost like $90 a month.
