I just got an Android myself so I don't have a top 5 but I do love Aviate! Changes my whole experience. Pocket is great, as is Google Keep as a note taking app that syncs with my Macbook as well.

I just started using Aviate as well. It's kind of cool, right? I don't know about how intelligent it is, but I do know I like it so far.

Yeah sometimes it has everything I need but other times it's not as intelligent as I would like. However now, with Yahoo! acquiring it, I wonder how it'll change in the upcoming year...

2) MX Player is great for video watching!
3) F-Stop is used for photos.
4) Calculator Plus.
5) HD & Beautiful Widgets! (2 apps I know but they are both great buys)

I am not a fan of FoxFi anymore (even though i bought it)...it will not mask tethering activity. It is basically just activating your normal wifi hotspot. But I don't know of any non-root alternatives.
