I am thinking about buying a SGS3, but since I am not due for an upgrade, I have to pay full retail for the device. From what I have seen, the cheapest place to get it is directly from VZW at $599.

Does anyone know of a place that the device would be cheaper? It seems like Amazon, Wirefly, Best Buy, etc all jack up the off contract pricing since they dont really make money that way.

Any ideas and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I'd wait honestly. In a few months the price will drop like 50$ or there will be another phone just as good if not better than the s3.

Best Buy price matches. I got mine there for $649 for the 32gb. They have a better return policy and no restocking fee. 30 days return if you aren't a silver reward zone, 60 if you are. Better warranty plan too!

Never saw a full price non-subsidized phone drop in price.. Now if you're talking about a subsidized phone they do drop in price. I believe the OP was asking about a full price NON-SUBSIDIZED. I got a new in the box 32gig S3 for $545 on swappa. I saw one go for as low as $525. I saw some lower prices for 16gigs. If you are one of the lucky ones to still have an unlimited data plan you will be able to keep that too. Good luck..

I'd go with either swappa or craigslist in your area. BUT if you don't like the phone there is no return policy with those...so..yea. Hope you really like the phone :p

Like CHIN087 said, I'd go with something like swappa.com or craigslist if you're not worried about having a brand new one. I've seen a lot of people on here that are very happy with swappa.

EBay. I got a brand new 16 gig pebble blue for under $500.

It does drop, but it takes a long time. Few months, no way. Think a year, may be. Droid charge was $570 when released and now is $500.
