I have heard of a lot of different programs to recover lost SD card data: Recuva, Dr. Fone, I-Care. Which is best or are there any for android instead of PC? Long story (I explained in detail on a different post and no one answered lol) My phone white-lighted after going completely dead, and somehow I lost pictures and over 500 MP3 files. Please help me recover these...thanks in advance for any advice.

If they are on the SD card and you haven't written to it yet since the files were lost then two very good free options are Recuva (which you mentioned) and PC Inspector.

I know of none that can be run from android.

Good luck!

Thanks for the advice. I tried using Recuva today and Windows tells me my USB storage device has malfunctioned and it will not recognize it. Any ideas? I would like to back up what pictures I have left and possibly still recover what I lost. Thanks so much.

If you haven't already, pull the SD card out of the phone and use an SD card reader connected to the Windows PC.

Beyond that, if you still receive the error, the card is is probably corrupt unfortunately.

Recuva worked for me.

Sd card had gone curropt suddenly, chkdsk formatted it, and then Recuva brought it all back. :)
