I am current using the AC-ROM-Froyo 2.2 Lite,

I am having alot of issues with error msgs and thing closing randomly, Orlive wil no longer work even after a reboot, text msgs are messing up as in i will send a msg out and when i get a txt back from that person instead of it being after my msg it is placed before my msg,

I am just wondering with everyones exp what is the best 2.2 Rom detoxed and is very stable

thanks in advanced for the help

Asking what the best ROM for the EVO is like a man asking whats the best car for him and someone saying a Lamborghini Revent?n, but little do they know he is a single father with 4 kid who lives in Canada and needs a 4 wheel drive vehicle.

IMO, the best thing you can do is to just try out several different roms for yourself. Just make sure you have a good nand backup to fall back on. Good luck!

I've only tried 5-6 different ROMs but Fresh 3.2.0.0 has been the most stable for me. I don't use Sense so I just removed it. As already mentioned just try some and see what you like.

Cyanogen mod. It does not use htcsense but does give you free mobile hotspots. It is very stable and I'm not missing a thing about sense.

Only problem with CM is that you lose 4G and HDMI, 2 of the Evo's biggest features. If it wasn't for this, I would give it a try because I would prefer to not have Sense.

To the OP, have you tried the regular AC-ROM instead of the lite version? I just flashed it on my Evo yesterday (my first time flashing a ROM) and so far it seems to be great.

Look at my signature and pick one.

You like Fresh over BakedSnack? I flashed BS 1.7 last night, my first ROM, and my phone is running well but it is OC at 1.2 and not sure if I need SETCPU and dial it back. Ever try Backed Snack?

They are about the same for me, I stayed with fresh because less reported problems, more updates, and I know for sure its themeable. BS is a great rom though.

Thank you for your pointless info. All of this info is a given. Instead of posting stupid **** maybe you should point out the differences between different roms. I will be trying out different roms and I will give my input on how they differ.

wow maybe you shouldnt bring up a 4 month old thread then? talk about a posting a stupid post...you win the award LOL

Can this thread please get closed i found my rom of choice. B.O.S. Liquid Metal. But yes as the second post states that best way to find out what Rom is the best is to just try them out everyone has there own favorite. Thanks for the info everyone someone please close this lol

Best ROMS

Well like many have stated already, a ROM is a matter of preference. For all intensive purposes I'm going to give you what I feel are the best choices currently (2/9/11) IMO. First of all I rooted into the Sprint Lovers ROM and as a first timer it was great. Smooth interface, better than stock for sure. Wifi hotspot included, also my app killer seemed to work more efficiently & of course with SetCPU I save tons of battery (This is the same for all I'm going to include here so I won't mention again.) My Next thought was CyanogenMOD v6. Clean, Fast, Effective. Personally I like Sense so this didn't do it for me but that is once again IMO. Also I enjoy 4G and HDMI so... Next I tried Fresh's Latest 3.5.0.1 but I got it through ROM Manager so it could be outdated (not sure). Seemed to work ok, somewhat slow to me, Wifi hotspot included, all the good stuff still works. ES File Express came with so that was nice. Probably more stuff I'm forgetting but i didn't spend much time with it too slow for my taste. Next I gave OMJ 4.3 a try & I gotta say I was pretty happy with it. Smooth interface, plenty of speed, and all the other good stuff I've already mentioned so not a bad option IMO. Last I've settled on MIKFROYO v4.5. All I have to say is WOW. Super fast, all the goodies, but the real difference is in the theme. First of all is deodexed so I can theme if I want to (I'm a graphic designer so this is something I really see as a plus). More than anything though theme that comes with is just my style, all black baby. This is truly my favorite so that's what I'm sticking with for the time being. I did momentarily play with MIUI 1.24(?) for a minute. It's basically an iPhone for your EVO. Not sure why people want that I love the android look and feel but if that's something you're interested in give it a shot it seems like many others are.

Long post but hopefully that helps, I may not have given Fresh the credit it deserves but wasn't fast enough regardless so.. yeah.

Cheers.

Just wanted to throw my 2 cents in as a newby. And I feel other newbys may be in the same boat I am. I have had the Evo for about 6 weeks now and I wanted to root it and try different roms but I was nervous. Just spent 200 on a phone and Didnt want to wreck it right away. Anyway Curiosity got the best of me and Im glad it did. I used unrevoked3 to root. And it was probably the easiest thing I have ever done in my life on a phone. (Old bb user, OS updates are harder than this). I got done and was like wow I was nervous for no reason.
So then I wanted to change the Rom. Again nervous didnt want to brick it. But a buddy told me about mikfroyo. V4.4. I put it on and as stated above it was great. It got rid of alot of the bloatware that I didnt want (although it got rid of some I did want. most of which I was able to find the apk for online, but still one im missing and I havnt figured out the whole "push" thing yet. It is a super fast rom. It is all black which like the guy above, thats the way it HAS to be. It still uses HTC sense which there are a few widgets on there I love so I wanted to keep that. It has the stock wifi hotspot. I have the little togle switch, tap it and BAM wifi no extra apps or anything needed. I have never had an issue with it at all. So if you are like me and want to better your phone but are too nervous to brick it, its a great option and does exactly what I want it too.
Its almost like having a stock phone with a few big upgrades.

If you have any questions. Send me a message. Somebody walked me through it the first time so ill pass it along.
Im on Mikfroyo v4.5 now.

Surprised no one mentioned Myns warm twopointtwo. Rls 5 is simply amazing if you want Sense. Looks great, hotspot works, (as does everything else), deodexed...I love this ROM. It was the first one I flashed (Rls 4), and I haven't gone anywhere else.

third for Myn. The thing I really like about it is that there is heavy support for customization of the ROM. I only tinkered with the launcher and notification bar on the surface, but it plays nice with most Kernels too, including the Netarchy ones.

IF you like CM6 but want all the functionality, then you can try the EvoNonsens4.3.1 ROM. It feels just like Cyanogen but still has Sense under the hood, so everything works. It's my daily driver and it's rock solid. I am now using the CM7 with Wimax ROM. 4G is working, and I have run fixes for the GPS and MMS issues, so they are now working. Only thing missing is HDMI, but I don't use it so it's not a loss for me. Gingerbread is awesome, especially with almost everything working!

Here's a link to the EvoNonsense ROM:

Here's the link for the CM7+Wimax ROM:

Just curious, did you get the liquid metal ROM running? It looks really cool but I got stuck in a boot loop every time I flashed it. Lots of things still not working in it though, so not sure it would be a daily driver for me.
