I listen to a lot of music with my phones. Right now, I stream my music with GPM, but I want to be able to use Samsung's music player. What's the best SD card to store music? Plus points for ability to store apps you don't want in storage. Thanks in advance.

I like the official Samsung ones from their online store. A lot of fakes are sold on Amazon

Best as far as size or brand/model? Size would be based on needs however you can get a quality card in 128GB pretty cheap today. My personal recommendations would be:

Samsung Evo plus / Select
SanDisk Extreme / Extreme Pro
Lexar Pro

Fakes are mostly shipped by 3rd parties, not Amazon. I do agree that some of the bulk packaged cards from Amazon are suspect.

However, Bestbuy will price match shipped and sold by Amazon.

For music, I wouldn't worry about speeds. That's a low bandwidth file type, so save a few bucks if you don't mind a slower card, because you won't notice a difference.

I wouldn't bother trying to store apps on the card. There's a number of downsides, the worst of which being it'll likely corrupt the card a lot sooner than would normally happen. SD cards are not designed for the kind of read/write activity that apps need.

I didn't specify, sorry. I meant brand. Thanks for the suggestions!

Yeah, I'm looking for a good cheap card, nothing crazy, since I only take the occasional point-and-shoot photos.

Cheap cards may have offbrand, cheap, crap NAND Flash memory. Spend a few $ more if you value your data.

I didn't have luck with SanDisk back then, TBH I'm a fan of Kingston. I only tried them because it was on sale but I had three RMA.

I remember they went on sale again and the lady at Canada Computers ask me what phone I have. She said Samsung and SanDisk are known to fail, she recommended Lexar or Transcend since they were also on sale.

As far as Speed rating, she also send don't pay too much attention unless you're using 4k.

Evo Select (the green label) is sold by Amazon exclusively and most likely to be real.

For other cards, as long as it's sold by or fulfilled by Amazon (please check!), there is a return policy.

I ordered an Evo Plus card that was fulfilled by Amazon, ran a few tests to verify capacity, and put it in my phone. No problems yet.

I only use Samsung and Sandisk, I've never either brand fail on me. I've had too many issues with other brands.
