Best self destructing text messaging apps?

I am looking for opinions on what Apps are best for either immediate deletion or time based deletion of text messages.

You can delete text messages by going into system settings > applications > sort by all > message (or the name of the messaging app you use) > clear data. You can do the same within the app but it's a slower process because you have to delete each thread rather than a delete all function. Note that messages will still be stored with the carrier, and delete all solutions will only erase what's on the device.

Thank you. Actually, what I am looking for is a text messaging application where the text message that I send will be automatically purged from my phone and the recipients phone once it is read.

Any thoughts?
