So I went to best buy this evening and bought a note 10.1 2014 ed and a Belk in case (taking it back and getting a Samsung case). Since I'm coming from apple I could use some tips on some of the best widgets, apps, launchers, and even tricks that you know. Anything would be appreciated.

Well a good launcher is nova launcher. It's really a nice one with a lot of features. I also use apex on my phone and action launcher. You can find all of them in the Play Store:-)

-Nova / nova prime-best launcher
-Zooper widget - custom widget maker with almost unlimited possibilities
-theScore - sports scores and notifications
-playerpro/poweramp - music players
-pocketband - make, share, download beats and music
-automateit - set rules and automatic tasks (ie set ringer and volumes to vibrate when in a meeting) etc
I have Tasker as well which is a more extensive version, its 3 bucks

There's a ton but those are some of my favorites...welcome to the good side

Such a huge variety of amazing apps that I even don't know from which category to start. I have 350 apps on my Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and I'm sure that there is no shortage of good apps for your tab.

I dont have any more suggestions than the MANY mentioned here. But I just have to chuckle when I read something like this, then see all the apple people including some of the tech reviews, noting that apple has so many more apps than android. Seriously HOW many apps can a person really use and need? With the AMAZING array of choice in both fun and productivity android has to offer, bundled with the brilliant amount of customization you can really make a device uniquely your own, what advantage does 8 billion cookie cutter apps, have over 5 billion really useful and varied apps. ;) Just sayin'
