Best sound output?

Am looking @ HTC One vs GS4 when my RAZR term up end of August. Not interested in iPhone, but son's iPhone 4 puts out much higher volume when set similarly as my RAZR does, and link is Aux cable in my Subaru. Which of those 2 phones has better volume for music playback? Modifying car not option. Same findings when we link our 2 phones via my wife's Ford's Sync & his iPhone generates more volume @ 50% vs mine.

I have had the iPhone 5 now I'm on the HTC one. Definitely louder clearer and crisper sound
